Linda A. Duggins

With more than 25 years of experience in the publishing industry, Linda A. Duggins is a 20-year publicity veteran who most recently served as senior director of publicity at Grand Central Publishing/Hachette Book Group. She developed and executed national publicity campaigns for debut and bestselling authors by building strong relationships across publishing, media, bookselling, and cultural institutions.

During her 20 years with Grand Central Publishing/Hachette Book Group, Linda worked with a stellar group of authors. She was recognized for her achievements as Senior Director of Publicity and Director of Multicultural Publicity, leading successful national campaigns across multiple genres and for numerous breakout titles. She represented authors such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Misty Copeland, Pam Grier, Jane Goodall, Kimberla Lawson Roby, Octavia E. Butler, and many others.

As co-founder of the Harlem Book Fair, an event for book lovers to promote and celebrate literary expression by writers of the African diaspora, Linda played a significant role in creating platforms to connect authors with readers and independent booksellers.

At Above the Treeline, as vice president of strategic partnerships, she was part of a team that developed and implemented innovative and comprehensive strategies to engage publishing professionals, industry organizations, authors, and community partners.

As a literary agent, Duggins co-agented Walter Mosley’s Ghalen: A Romance in Black (Amistad, May 2026). Linda’s commitment to creating meaningful industry partnerships to ensure impactful representation for authors is foundational to her long-standing role within the industry. Duggins is currently an agent with Rock Inked Literary.

As an inaugural member of the Black Book Accelerator, Duggins brings years of experience to continue to strengthen the Black Book Ecosystem and increase overall stakeholder revenue. Linda is on the Board of Directors of the National Book Club Conference, whose mission is to advance literacy and knowledge through reading and dialogue. She is the President of the Board of Directors of the Queensbridge Scholarship Fund, where she helps facilitate continuing-education scholarships for full-time college students who are residents of Queensbridge and Ravenswood Houses in Queens, New York. Duggins also serves on the Advisory Board of the National Association of Black Bookstores.
