Biography

Nina Foxx is the author of fifteen novels, including works published by HarperCollins and Romantic Comedy, and has contributed to two anthologies. She has written, produced, and directed several stage plays that have toured nationally, composed accompanying music available on iTunes, and released a play on DVD through Urban Home Entertainment. Foxx has also produced several feature films, including 513, Magic Valley, and A** Backwards, and wrote, produced, and directed the award-winning short films Closer to Crazy and She’s Got Is’ Shoes. She has also served as a producer for television programs on the National Geographic Channel.

She holds an MFA in Creative Writing and a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. In addition to authoring several industrial design patents, Foxx is recognized as a savvy marketer of her work and has been featured in Publishers Weekly, Black Issues Book Review, QBR, Brilliant, Today’s Black Woman, and Black Enterprise.

Foxx is the founder of The Writing Sisters Summit™, a writing and wellness retreat for women of color, and Unapologetic: The Retreat, a coaching getaway focused on personal growth. She is also a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).

Cynnamon Foster is the alter ego of Nina Foxx. According to Foxx, Foster finally escaped by tying her up, locking her in a closet, and taking over the writing.

Originally from Jamaica, New York, Nina Foxx now divides her time between Seattle, Washington, and Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
