Robert Coles

Robert Coles (literary scholar & poet) is emeritus associate professor of African-American literature at Hampshire College. He earned his B.A. from Lincoln University, M.A. from Arizona State University, and Ph.D. from SUNY Buffalo. Coles is the author of Pursuing Alexander Pushkin: A Memoir (Africa World Press/Red Sea Press, 2025), has published more than 100 poems, and has traveled repeatedly to Russia for Pushkin research.
