Biography
Robert de la Chevotiere was a Barbadian poet and educator whose work reflects the rhythms and landscapes of the Caribbean. Active during the mid–20th century, de la Chevotiere’s poetry blends formal lyricism with social commentary and a strong sense of island identity. His writing, though less widely known internationally, holds an important place in the canon of Caribbean literature (photo credit: Nikola Davison).
