Tiffanie Barriere
Biography
Tiffanie Barriere is an award-winning bartender, educator, author, and cultural storyteller known as The Drinking Coach. Born in Louisiana, raised in Texas and the South, and now based in Atlanta, she explores the connections between cocktails, history, agriculture, migration, Black foodways, and hospitality. With more than two decades in the beverage industry, she has earned an international reputation for transforming cocktails into conversations about culture and community.
Barriere is the author of Good Spirits, a collection of recipes, techniques, and essays celebrating the people, places, and traditions behind the world’s favorite drinks. She serves as U.S. Co-Chair of the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards, judges major international spirits competitions, and is a sought-after speaker and educator.
Her many honors include the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation’s Visionary Award, Women of Whiskey’s Bartender of the Year, Food & Wine’s Game Changer, inclusion on Imbibe’s Imbibe 75, and the IACP Toni Tipton-Martin Award. Through her company, The Barriere Collective, she advises brands and organizations on storytelling, education, menu development, and cultural consulting. Her work has been featured by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Food & Wine, Essence, and many other leading media outlets.
