Vera B. Williams

Biography

Vera B. Williams (1927–2015) was children’s author and illustrator, born Vera Baker to immigrant parents from Eastern Europe.

She is best known for books like A Chair for My Mother and More More More Said the Baby, which often featured working-class and ethnically diverse families. Her work was noted for its social justice themes and empathetic portrayal of urban family life.
