We Need Diverse Books (WNDB) began in April 2014 as the viral #WeNeedDiverseBooks hashtag, bringing together writers, illustrators, publishers, educators, and readers seeking better representation in books.
That movement grew into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to changing the publishing landscape. Today, WNDB supports diverse creators, publishing professionals, educators, students, and readers across the United States.
