Dana Bari is a romance author whose love of storytelling grew from years of reading romance and historical fiction—and from a desire to see more stories that reflect her own stage of life. Wanting to move beyond the familiar narratives of twenty- and thirty-somethings finding love, she set out to write fiction that celebrates passion, courage, and new beginnings after fifty.

Her debut novel, The Risk of Loving You: When Danger Meets Desire, follows a 57-year-old widow who unexpectedly falls in love with a 60-year-old bachelor, only to have a dangerous secret threaten their second chance at happiness.

A proud Bessemer native, Dana chose her pen name—meaning “wise originator”—to reflect her aspirations as a writer.
