Chelsea has never been much of a sports fan, but an invitation to sit courtside at a New York Rebels game offers a welcome change of pace. She certainly isn’t expecting a basketball to come flying toward her—or the six-foot-four WNBA star whose dazzling smile leaves a lasting impression when they retrieve it.

Adrienne “AD” Daniels is known as much for their talent on the court as their inability to stay in a relationship. Although the chemistry between them and Chelsea is undeniable, AD isn’t looking for anything beyond a single unforgettable night.

Then AD’s agent proposes an unexpected arrangement: Chelsea will pretend to be AD’s girlfriend. As a Black, nonbinary lesbian with a complicated dating history, AD needs a more stable public image to secure endorsement deals before retiring. Chelsea, a sex-positive influencer eager to expand her platform, sees the fake relationship as an opportunity to grow her audience. The plan is simple—help each other through the season, then walk away.

But as their carefully staged romance begins to feel genuine, Chelsea discovers that falling in love was never part of the bargain. Now she must decide whether risking her heart is worth jeopardizing the future she has worked so hard to build.
