Influenced by prostitution, drugs, and poverty, Maurice was forced to make decisions that would eventually lead him into a life of crime. He served time in juvenile detention centers and ultimately did several years in state prison for the sale of illegal narcotics, criminal possession of firearms, and conspiring to run a criminal enterprise.

After being released he had two options. He could go back to school, get a job and become a productive member of society, or get back in the game, roll the dice and see if he would come out on top. The stakes were high and with two felonies under his belt Maurice couldn’t afford to make another mistake. One wrong move meant life behind bars. He knew what he had to do—but the streets kept calling him.
