Family members, neighbors, and strangers alike referred to Christian as a beautiful child, often with a hint of confusion. With a bright future ahead of him, Christian wanted nothing more than to take his last breath. He believed no one should have to endure so much adversity, yet there he was.

Donovan attracted all the wrong attention—and wanted more. As the youngest of three brothers, attention was the one thing he lacked. Convinced that he could never live up to his brothers’ legacies, he set out to create one of his own.

Despite how others perceived her, Miyah would describe herself as mediocre at best. That was how she viewed both her appearance and intelligence. She would admit, however, that she was exceptionally skilled at blending in—sometimes referring to that ability as disappearing. She wished she could speak up confidently for herself and others, but she always reserved the spotlight for those around her.

The Bullied, the Bully, and the Bystander explores how Christian, Donovan, and Miyah are shaped by the events of their lives. When the lives of these three teenagers intersect dramatically, each is left wishing for a different outcome.
