We are carried through his introduction to the range where he becomes an expert cowboy and marksman. After winning a shooting contest in Deadwood, South Dakota in 1876, his skills as a marksman earned him the nickname Deadwood Dick . In all, Nat Love spent twenty years living the life of a cowboy. In his latter life, Nat Love and several of his former saddle mates worked for the railroad. He became a devoted father and family man.
