When you see the Asante symbol, you know that the work reflects the philosophy of Dr. Molefi Kete Asente—to place the reader in the center of African and African-American culture, sharing not only its history, but its emotions and values, as well. The Asante symbol also means that the Asante Instructional Design is built into the work, reinforcing knowledge on a challenging and very personal level, and encouraging everyone to see through African and African-American eyes.
