Marlon B. Ross is Professor of English in the Carter G. Woodson Institute at the University of Virginia. He has earned; a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, 1983, an M.A. from the University of Chicago, 1979; and a B.A. Southwestern University, 1978. His academic studies focus on African American, gender and sexuality studies, and romanticism
