Editorial:
Kimani TRU editorial will address the triumphs, issues and concerns of African-American young adults with candor, wit and realism.  While edgy and serious subjects will be addressed, the novels will strive for an entertaining and satisfying read.  The novels will reflect the 21st century coming-of-age obstacles this generation faces including: family, relationships, peer pressure, education, sex, drugs, alternative lifestyles, non-traditional families, money, and all other primary issues teens face on the journey to independence. However, the harshest subject matter will not be experienced directly by the main characters, thus allowing them to face challenges, but not have significant character flaws. The dialogue will mirror the current day vernacular, with references to music, movies, tv, clothes, and tastes of this trend-setting audience.
