Biography of Billy Johnson
Billy Johnson is an African American writer originally from Staten Island, New York. A graduate of Curtis High School, he went on to attend Triton College in River Forest, Illinois, and Roosevelt University in Chicago.
Before pursuing his literary interests, Billy served honorably in the U.S. Navy and later embarked on a successful career in banking and finance. Over the years, he has lived in New York, Chicago, and San Diego, and now resides in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, with his wife, Susan Barrett. Together they share a family of six children—Marcus, Kennedy, and Seneca, along with stepchildren Gessie, Rachel, and Jacqui.
His debut novel, America the Beautiful, marked his entry into fiction. Billy is currently working on his second novel, which explores the lives of an African American family living on Staten Island during the 1960s.
