Biography of Glodean Champion

Glodean Champion can be best described as a “Renaissance Woman with Flair.” She is a storyteller, coach, educator, photographer, graphic artist, and musician. Her writing has been published in Woman’s Work Anthology, Hip Mama Magazine, Exposure, The Womanist, The Word, and The Mills College Weekly. Her photography and graphic artwork have been shown in several Bay Area galleries as well as the Art of Living Black, San Francisco International Arts Festival, the San Francisco Black Film Festival, and as one of four featured artists in The Colors Within: The Inner Splendor of the Black Female.

Los Angeles-born and now living in Monterey, CA, Glodean has a BA in English Literature from Mills College in Oakland and an MFA in Writing from California College of the Arts in San Francisco. She strives to explore sexuality and gender non-conformity, racism, and the beauty and strength of the Black (African American) spirit and community in her writing. She is a Voices of Our Nation Arts (VONA) Foundation and Hurston-Wright Foundation alum. Salmon Croquettes (February 01, 2021) is her first novel.
