Judith Falloon-Reid

Judith Falloon-Reid is an author, poet, spoken word artist, and filmmaker. Born and raised in Jamaica, she has written numerous novels, children's books, and inspirational self-help titles. Her children's book, Antarctica Adventures with a Jamaican on Ice, and coffee table book, Aaah-Inspiring Antarctica, chronicle her historic journey as the first Jamaican woman to visit Antarctica.

In 2020, her traveling exhibition of the same name—which featured her photographs, books, film, and presentations—opened to critical acclaim at the National Library of Jamaica before touring other venues. In 2024, she released her first poetry album, I Am No Poet, featuring fifteen original spoken-word pieces.

Judith is the writer and director of four award-winning Jamaican faith-based films and the creator of several television programs, including the drama series Mirrors in Paradise, commissioned by the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ) and based on one of her books. She and her husband, Michael Brown, own BarriVision Films and Productions.

With more than forty years of writing experience, Judith has worked as a newspaper columnist and travel writer. She has toured the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as a poet and cultural ambassador, participates annually in the Jamaica Poets Nomadic School Tour, and serves as a workshop presenter, host, and panelist at the Caricon Literary Conference in Los Angeles. In 2022, the City of Los Angeles recognized her for her lifetime contributions to the arts.
