Biography of Laila Ibrahim
Laila Ibrahim is surprised and grateful to be a full-time novelist. She was stunned when the writing bug bit her, and it took a lot of courage to listen to that call. She is glad she did. Her book, Yellow Crocus, has reached a million readers and has been published in ten languages. She has worked as a preschool teacher and director at Woolsey School, a birth doula, and as the Director of Children and Family Ministries at the First Unitarian Church of Oakland. She is determined to do her small part to add a little more love and justice to our hurting world. Her wonderful wife, Rinda, has put up with her big personality for more than 30 years. They live in a small co-housing community in Berkeley, California, with Hazel, their adorable toy Aussie, and two other families. Their young adult children and children-in-law are kind enough to text, FaceTime, and visit often. They recently welcomed their first grandchild, and it's as great as it is rumored to be. When she is not writing, Laila likes to cook, walk with friends, and do puzzles while watching TV. She is also pretty intrigued by the Enneagram, which helps with character development.
