Lisa E. Davis
Biography
Lisa E. Davis is one of the nation’s foremost entertainment attorneys. She serves as chair of the Entertainment Group at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, where she represents clients across the film, television, publishing, music, theater, and sports industries.
Davis has been recognized as a New York area “Super Lawyer” since 2007 and was featured on the cover of Super Lawyers magazine for her career and advocacy for racial justice. Her many honors include recognition in Who’s Who Legal 2024, Best Lawyers in America (2023–2025), Crain’s New York Business 2023 Notable Women in Law, and The Hollywood Reporter’s Power Lawyers lists (2025, 2024, 2023, 2021, and 2020), which highlight New York’s top entertainment attorneys. She has also been featured in Variety’s Legal Impact Report and cited in Elle, The New York Times, and Black Enterprise.
A graduate of Harvard College and New York University School of Law, Davis clerked for the Honorable Constance Baker Motley in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She is a frequent speaker and panelist at industry conferences and is a member of the New York City Bar and the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association.
Davis is also the author of the political blog Journal of the Plague Years. She practices law in New York and lives in New Jersey with her family.
