Biography of Margaret Wilkerson Sexton
Margaret Wilkerson Sexton was born in New Orleans, LA, received her BA in Creative Writing from Dartmouth College and her JD from UC Berkeley School of Law.
Her stories have been published in Grey Sparrow Journal, Limestone Journal and Broad! Magazine. Sexton, a recipient of the Lombard fellowship, spent a year in the Dominican Republic working for a civil-rights organization and writing her first manuscript, A Kind of Freedom, which received an honorable mention in the Leapfrog Press Fiction Contest and was nominated for a 2017 National Book Award. Her work has also been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
