Biography of Michelle Meadows

Michelle Meadows is the author of 10 books for children — with more books in the works. She loves creating heartwarming stories that are enjoyable to read aloud.

Michelle wrote her first book, The Way The Storm Stops, in the middle of the night after rocking her son to sleep during a thunderstorm. This comforting story, which turns a booming storm into a lullaby, is recommended as a book that helps children cope with a fear of thunderstorms. It was named a recommended book on The Bank Street College Library’s Diversity List for Children and is a resource on the website of Peep and the Big, Wide World.

Michelle’s books have received rave reviews from School Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, Booklist, and The Washington Post. Brave Ballerina is a Junior Library Guild Selection and received starred reviews in School Library Journal and Shelf Awareness. Hibernation Station made it on the Los Angeles Times Reading List and was a nominee for two awards: the South Carolina Picture Book Award and the New Hampshire Ladybug Picture Book Award. The Bank Street College of Education’s Children’s Book Committee (CBC) named Hibernation Station a Children’s Book of the Year in the Under Five category.
