Biography of Pamela Mariva Mshana

Pamela Mariva Mshana, PhD is an international award-winning playwright, author, and educator. Her play, Ebony, which was produced at Playwrights Horizons, an Off-Broadway theater in New York City, also received a dramatic reading at the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Mshana has been an educator for over 20 years, serving in multiple roles from teaching to administration. She has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who in the World as a Leader in the Field of Education. As an educator in residence at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa, she wrote and directed the play, Thando of South Africa. Her most recent accomplishments include: Being a 2023 International Book Awards Finalist in the category of African American Literature, receiving the 2023 Global Book Awards, Silver Medal in the category of Contemporary Fiction for her novel, girls in search of cover, part 1. Pamela was also recognized as a finalist for part 2 of the same title. Dr. Mshana earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in dramatic writing from New York University (Tisch School of the Arts); a master’s degree in education from Azusa Pacific University and a PhD in urban leadership from Claremont Graduate University, (both located in Southern California).
