Biography of Vincent L. Johnson
Born with a passion for storytelling, Vincent L. Johnson, MD loves creating adventures that spark young readers’ imaginations. Growing up on the West Side of Chicago, he learned the value of family, community, and hard work, which he weaves into his books. As a pediatrician, Vincent combines his love for telling stories and helping children, creating tales that inspire and entertain.
Vincent has written several beloved picture books, including Malik and the Magnificent Glowing Light, Of Corn Silk and Black Braids, and Daddy’s Good Cookin'. His newest book, At the Edge of a Leaf, will debut on September 17, 2024, and he is currently working on his next exciting project, The Magic in My Words. When he’s not writing, Vincent enjoys gardening, hiking, and exploring nature.
