W.D. Foster-Graham

W.D. Foster-Graham is a native son of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He received a B.A. in psychology from Luther College, and he is an original member of the multi-Grammy Award-winning ensemble, Sounds of Blackness. He has also been recognized by the International Society of Poets as one of its “Best Poets of 2003,” is a guest writer for journalist/author/entertainer Wyatt O’Brian Evans, and the book review editor for the Twin Cities Black community newspaper Insight News.

His Christopher Family Novel series is now part of the Quatrefoil Library Collection and the Archie Givens, Sr. Collection of African American Literature.

His passion for reading and writing was inspired by his father, who read voraciously. His tastes in writing run to family sagas and m/m romance, seasoned with his own brand of African American flavor—at the end of the day, it’s all about the love. He shamelessly admits to a love of romance novels, whodunits, and classic movies of old Hollywood. He was also inspired by the late novelists E. Lynn Harris and Toni Morrison. In Toni’s words, “If there is a story you wish to read, and it hasn’t been written yet, then you must be the one to write it.”

When not in writer’s laptop mode, he loves travel on the open road, nature walks, and time with his husband and son.
