Alberto O. Cappas

Poet, Writer, Community Activist, and Publisher. Alberto O. Cappas was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico and raised in New York City. He graduated from Harlem Prep and the SUNY Buffalo. Alberto is the founder of La Fortaleza Concept, a business & economic development project in East Harlem. He is also the founder of El Festival del Libro (Festival of Books), a program of La Fortaleza. Alberto moved to Buffalo in 2013 where he founded the Puerto Rican/Latino Committee, a community advocate group, and is the publisher of the Buffalo Latino Village, a monthly newspaper covering issues pertaining to Buffalo’s Puerto Rican/Latino community.

Alberto is the author of several books, including Dona Julia & other Selected Published Poems; Never too late to make a U-turn: An Educational Pledge & 15 Questions to Self-Development; To Think is to Grow: Quotes to Provoke the Mind; and his most recent work, The Educational Pledge, Questions to Self-Development.
