B.L. Brown (Bridgette L. Brown) has been a law enforcement professional for over 16 years and performed in the capacity of training officer, detective, supervisor and general instructor. She has utilized the knowledge obtained throughout her career to teach various classes at local training academies. She has created training programs for law enforcement agencies involving field training and criminal investigations. Ms. Brown has had extensive training in crime prevention through environmental design, citizen/police encounters, court testimony, domestic violence, interacting with diverse communities, investigations, juvenile justice, personal security and offender re-entry.

Ms. Brown received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Henderson State University and spent five years teaching in the public schools. She received a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Troy University in addition to graduate Criminal Justice coursework towards a management certificate.

Ms. Brown is a member of ASIS, International an organization that promotes the continued training and education of security professionals Internationally; Toastmasters International, an organization that empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders and The Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, an international association that fosters professional and scholarly activities in the field of criminal justice.

Ms. Brown is passionate about education and criminal justice and works to meld these disciplines to improve the relationship between law enforcement and the citizens they serve. Ms. Brown is the author of The Justice Academy What You Should Know which is an easy to follow guide to the American Criminal Justice System and Brownie Bear Teaches Gun Safety a great resource used to deter accidental shootings by children.
