K. Kofi Moyo

Karega Kofi Moyo, the “original Real Man,” is a photojournalist, gemologist, community activist, father of nine children, and husband. He and his wife Yvette Moyo, founded the Real Men Cook for Charity event in 1989. He is a member of the Southern Foodways Alliance; the Penn Center on St. Helena Island, South Carolina; Slow Food USA; and the Multicultural Food and Hospitality Alliance. He is a regular speaker on topics from prostate cancer to fatherhood, and his awards include the Community Mental Health Council’s Leadership Award and the Chicago Tribune’s Good Eating Award.
