Mudiwa Pettus, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of English Composition and Rhetoric at Medgar Evers College. She research interests are located at the intersections of rhetorical education, Black intellectual history, and late nineteenth and early twentieth-century African-American literature. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Killens Review of Art and Letters. Her first book will be Against Compromise: Black Rhetorical Education in the Age of Booker T. Washington.

Dr. Pettus has taught composition, literature, and African American Studies courses, and she counts learning from my students as the best part of my job.
