Ndirangu Githaiga was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and immigrated to the United States in the early 2000s. A practicing pulmonary and critical care physician based in Virginia, he believes in the transformational power of stories which have the ability not only to change how people see themselves but also how others see them. His debut novel, The People of Ostrich Mountain was nominated one of best books of 2020 by Kirkus Reviews. His stories feature life in Kenya as well as the experiences of Black people in America.

Ndirangu is an avid recreational runner and is currently on a unique journey that involves running a marathon in each of the fifty states.
