She is the mother of her Straight Out Scribes partner Dr. V.S. Chochezi
Staajabu was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Camden, NJ. She is a writer, poet, editor, program producer, health advocate, prison rights and environmental activist, graphic artist and U.S. Air Force veteran who resides in Sacramento, CA.
