Aspirations was started by women, who didn't know each other, who met in a Brooklyn restaurant.
We have laughed, cried, celebrated, and reflected on our individual lives together. Over the years, we have evolved and now hold a dual purpose: Reading and discussing fiction and nonfiction works that reflect the joy, truth, mystery, and celebration of the African-American and Caribbean experience.
