The club began after several good friends enjoyed the movie "Soul food" together. The sense of "family," communicated in the movie motivated us to commit to getting together on a more regular basis. Our mutual love of reading naturally lead to our book club. Many of us have been friends for over 20 years, since college days. The 12 of us meet the 4th Sunday of every month, rotating homes from La Verne to Los Angeles. We also enjoy attending book fairs, hosting authors, and organizing non profit activities together. We look forward to many rewarding years to come!
