Resurrecting The King
Description of Resurrecting The King
Professor Joshua Cassidy is a rare genius of Irish and African descent. He exists between two worlds — science and magic. He is both atheist and priest, rational thinker and mystic, light and darkness. Yet his reckless indulgence in supernatural pursuits has become increasingly dangerous.
Joshua’s scientific peers ridicule his research and published papers exploring the resurrection of the dead. His personal relationships deteriorate under the weight of his obsession with the occult. As his experiments fail, mysterious voices invade his mind, making daily life nearly impossible. He becomes cursed, incoherent, mocked, and isolated. Frustrated and broken, Joshua decides to end his life.
But as he walks toward the turbulent Atlantic Ocean to meet his fate, a beautiful jazz singer intervenes. She begs him to use his abilities to resurrect a legendary leader capable of governing a struggling African nation and preventing catastrophic war. Rival jungle warlords threaten to unleash nuclear devastation across Africa and beyond. Her solution is terrifying: bring back from the dead Shaka, King of the Zulu, and allow him to rule the modern world with ruthless power.
Joshua is torn between inspiration and dread. The voices inside his head warn that disaster will follow if he chooses incorrectly. But resurrection is no simple act. First, a new body must be grown. Then he must descend into the realm of dead souls and retrieve a single spirit from among billions of entities — humans, angels, and demons all desperate to breathe again.
If Joshua makes even one mistake, the entire human race could be overwhelmed by bloodthirsty entities escaping the iron gates of oblivion.
