Over the last few decades, veteran White House correspondent and political analyst April Ryan has held a front-row seat to American history. Now, in her necessary new book, Notes on a Blacklash, she delivers a sharp, deeply informed examination of the cultural and political pushback against racial progress in America.

“Ryan’s memoir will resonate with anyone interested in how race and gender shape our world and in the media’s influence on democracy.” —Booklist
