2017 Festival was cancelled

“The BWABC Literacy Association will not hold its annual festival in 2017. We thank you for your support and attendance over the past five years. We are presently regrouping and designing ways to make the festival bigger and better. We encourage you as authors, book clubs, and avid readers to remain involved in your communities. Support literacy and encourage others, especially our children, to read, read, read! Attend other festivals and conferences that can be found spread throughout the country. Support these festivals. It may look like it's easy to put on a successful event, but this couldn't be further from the truth. We love you and appreciate you. BWABC Literacy Festival is an annual festival accepting and open to all regardless of gender, race, national origin, religion, age, marital status, or disability. Our mission is to promote literacy by connecting authors primarily with avid readers, book clubs, authors and publishers. It is held in September during National Literacy Month.

At the festival you can meet, engage and network with authors, book clubs and avid readers from across the nation, purchase books to support literacy, walk the book club ‘purple carpet,’participate in games, win door prizes, Children’s corner, attend book club panel discussions, enter essay contests to win a number of prizes and awards! It is a FAMILY FRIENDLY FESTIVAL AND FREE TO ALL!

The event is held every year, the 3rd weekend of September. Friday is the author’s networking and Saturday is the day festival is open to public.
