Sunshine State Book Festival
In its seventh year, the 2026 Sunshine State Book Festival “Brings Readers and Writers Together.” 100 authors will showcase their books while several activities will celebrate America’s 250th Birthday with cultural events inspired by “From Pirates to the Present: 250 Year of Literature in Florida.”

In a bold new approach to preserving, celebrating, and sharing African American history, Rescuing History Inc., a nonprofit, and Sula Too Publishing announce the launch of the Rescuing History Authors Tour — A Rolling Symposium, a multi-state journey featuring authors, educators, and cultural leaders traveling together to historically significant sites across the Southeast.
The immersive tour transforms a charter bus into a mobile:
- Learning lab
- Bookstore
- Storytelling studio
- Community gathering space
The initiative takes history directly to the people who lived it and the communities shaped by it.
Venice Book Fair and Writers Festival
The Venice Book Fair and Writers Festival is a small, unique program hosting writers teaching writers on Friday night, and authors selling and signing their books to the public on Saturday. All proceeds from the Venice Book Fair and Writers Festival go to Venice Heritage Inc., the 501(c) 3 fundraising arm of two historic sites in Venice, the Lord-Higel House, currently under restoration, and the Venice Museum and Archives expansion project.
Southwest Florida Reading Festival
There really is something for all ages to experience at the Southwest Florida Reading Festival. Everyone enjoys the multiple stages with the celebrity authors who share ‘inside scoop’ about their latest books or what makes a story idea click for them. You will be able to buy books and have the authors personalize and sign them too! You’ll find our numerous book and educational vendors offering the latest in services and new ideas. Kids will be mesmerized by the storytellers.

Tampa Bay Black Authors Expo
The TBBAE grew from a desire to showcase the diverse literary talent that is alive and well in the greater Tampa Bay area. By creating the only expo dedicated to authors of color here in the Bay area, we’ve created a platform for some of this area’s most creative minds to gather, network and share their stories with their community.
St. Pete Reads! Literacy Festival
The St. Pete Reads! Literacy Festival is dedicated to entertaining, engaging, and educating children through literature.
Miami Book Fair

The first Miami Book Fair, founded by Miami Dade College and community partners, took place in 1984. Since then, it has been recognized as the nation’s finest literary festival. In 2001, the Fair became part of The Center for Writing and Literature @ Miami Dade College, a cultural and academic initiative that promotes the advancement and appreciation of literature throughout the year.
JAX Urban Book Festival
The JAX Urban Book Festival (JUBF) is an annual celebration of literature, culture, and community held each January as part of DREAMWEEK JAX. Founded by acclaimed author Dr. V. Brooks Dunbar (“Dr. V”) and DREAMWEEK INC., the festival brings together authors, readers, aspiring writers, and community partners for a day of inspiration and connection.
ReadOut: A Festival of LGBTQ Literature
ReadOut: A Festival of LGBTQ Literature is a program of the LGBTQ Resource Center, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in Gulfport, Florida. ReadOut was founded in 2018 and is an inclusive event that showcases literature written by, for, and about LGBTQ community.
F.R.E.S.H. Book Festival
F.R.E.S.H. Book Film Festival (Fiction, Romance, Erotica, Spiritual, Health and More) hosts more than 40 authors, editors, and filmmakers who convene to discuss their books, upcoming projects, and share insight and wisdom related to their crafts.
