The JAX Urban Book Festival (JUBF) is an annual celebration of literature and culture founded by acclaimed author Dr. V. Brooks Dunbar, “Dr. V,” and DREAMWEEK INC., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit fostering social progress and community engagement inspired by Dr. King’s vision. Held each January as part of DREAMWEEK JAX, we showcase Jacksonville as a hub for arts, culture, business, and social progress. We welcome celebrated authors and book lovers from across the country. JUBF supports the growth of creative talent in our community. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and attendees, this festival remains free and open to everyone.

Sunshine State Book Festival

In its seventh year, the 2026 Sunshine State Book Festival “Brings Readers and Writers Together.” 100 authors will showcase their books while several activities will celebrate America’s 250th Birthday with cultural events inspired by “From Pirates to the Present: 250 Year of Literature in Florida.”
