Book Description:
Messenger birds, a conscious spring, and a terracotta effigy summon back home the Dove clan of Austin Creek, a mystical land in Butler County, Alabama. Before the exiled descendants can return to the long-forgotten enclave of their past, they have to complete inner journeys that threaten the meaning of self, marriage, and death. If they can remember ancient legends and reconnect an estranged paternal bloodline, their transformations are sure to shock every living entity in the Deep South woodlands. “Transcendent” –Futurescapes faculty reviewer. Winner of South Arts Literary Arts Project grant. Purchase today!
