Faure Must Go by Dwayne Wong (Omowale)

ISBN-13: 978-1720738800; published June 11, 2018 https://www.amazon.com/Faure-Must-Dwayne-Wong-Omowale/dp/1720738807

In August of 2017 the people in the West African nation of Togo began protests against a five decades old dictatorship which is currently being led by Faure Gnassingbe who became the president of Togo after his father died. “Faure Must Go” is a short book that explains the political situation in Togo leading up to the protests and examines some of the challenges that the Togolese people face in their struggle to end this dictatorship. “Faure Must Go” also connects the struggles of people of African descent in the United States with the struggles of the Togolese people. Also included in this book is an interview with Farida Nabourema, who is an activist that has been involved in Togo’s fight for democracy since she was a teenager.
