Tulisoma South Dallas Book Fair, August 19, 2023

“Tulisoma,” which translates to “we read” in Swahili, is a festival rooted in the South Dallas/Fair Park community that champions literacy and the arts. This delightful family event showcases various authors and illustrators, offering activities like author spotlights, book readings, writing sessions, book signings, panel talks, children's storytelling, and other fun activities for kids throughout the day. The workshops will delve into topics such as the path to getting published, discussions on book bans, and the rich history of black literature. The African American Literature Book Club participated for the first time this year and we had a great time.
