It is October 12th and that means it is Indigenous Peoples Day! Since @CRLiterature is a place of writing, we will honor Indigenous Poets through a challenge.
CHALLENGE
Take the opening line from a poem by an indigenous poet [ LOOK IMMEDIATELY BELOW THIS PARAGRPAH] and then using that opening line create your own poem in a literature deviation. Share your literature deviation in the comments of this post, to share among the literary community of Deviantart.

Make a literature deviation where you state your poem with the first line gotten from the poem of an indigenous poet. In the description of your literature deviation, you must state the indigenous poet name + title of their poem whose first line you used.
