Nelson Mandela

my comment
From a distance, I think Mandela was a different man in temperament from life experiences, features when youngest, agenda as a president compared to schrumpft. But Mandela made mistakes as president of south africa. Osasu, what was Mandela's biggest mistake as president of SA?
my sharing
@osasuo makes a great point that what differs from a president/man like Mandela compared to a president/man like schrumpft is not merely humility. But to have a custom , that survived and grew from painful prison, to recognize all in a blood feud live on the ground. what say you?
IN AMENDMENT
well... from a distance I think Mandela as a person is vastly different from Schrumpft. As a woman from south africa said, Mandela went into jail with a traditional robe and came out in a european suit. Mandela survived prison, changed but not deleted. Schrumpft has (1/5) never had to face a similar challenge plus unlike Mandela before Mandela's imprisonment, Shrumpft never fought for the betterment of others against oppressors, only his greed or mobstarting(2/5) Mandela also post prison fought against black people including his wife and children who didn't want the integration mandela staked his remaining life/reputation/hopes on(3/5) But after three drops of honey I must say the pot is Schrumpft+Mandela have one thing in common, neither know how to make the path the populace in their respective country needs/needed. a kind heart never saved anybody(4/5) and a hateful heart never killed anybody. Results is what governors need more than their manners or temperaments being good or bad. (5/5)

@leothefox are you a star trek fan?
If not, which is the most penny dreadful star trek tale? I argue deep space nine episode "A Pale Moonlight" is the most.
Lagos is the capitol of nigeria, I didn't expect a referral to it. HAve you been to lagos? I bet you have been to NYC by the design

@Redsterfish I enjoyed the third and penultimate stanza the most. The third I enjoyed but needed to search what a lorry is. a big moving vehicle The penultimate has nice illustration
@Whelveaway beautiful sketches, did you see the colors or chose them yourself?
@Chaosfive-55 tiss the season for the lunatic's dirge, my favorite stanza is the second. Love the imagery of "Feel the gelid liquescence of River Styx Falls" ohh and curious case of the cougar's daughter is a nice title I will love to see a film version, with a woman falling of the side of the desk like that Your women are so polite, apologizing for their actions and an uncommon car.. hmm why the mitsubishi? Of course your detective wants chili haha I do not think i ever saw a detective who read pulp before, nice touch. I think I read this before:but it was fun then and fun now
@VinceAndrews that portal was really like that at the knaresborough? It is interesting how the gate behind this old door. Nice details fellow inker.
@CapnDeek373 the house design or the environment about the house was inspired by the home of your youth? I see onyx, and I think i see bob hanging on the windowsill. I saw the "tubes" about the basement first, is that power from some creature or world going to the building or the buildings innards being absorbed?

The Dead are a-dragging us all to our doom, Down the endless insatiable maw of the tomb!Hear the skittery-scratching of rats in the walls! Feel the gelid liquescence of River Styx Falls As the pale slimy waters wash eye-sockets clean, Giving our bones a fresh, shiny new sheen!See the skeletons dance in the light of the Moon, Where the ghastly ghouls gather to gibber and croon In the vast pit of Tartarus where mankind shall dwell, Down the dank, dismal gullet of eternal Hell!!!!!(maniacal laughter, fading into silence)

Curious Case of the Cougar's Daughter
I was sitting at my desk, flipping through an old issue of THRILLING DETECTIVE TALES and pretending not to listen as Liberty's prospective client, a worried-looking fellow with thinning hair and a thickening midsection, told her about his aunt's new boyfriend. "He's in his early thirties, Ms. Morgan--Aunt Bedelia is fifty-seven! I don't trust him, but my aunt is quite smitten and won't listen to my warnings! I want you to follow him." I rolled my eyes behind the magazine--it was exactly the kind of case I wouldn't touch with a ten-meter cattle prod. Same reason I don't follow people's spouses around-where's the mystery in jobs like that? But as Liberty likes to remind me, a job is a job; still, better her than me. "And what is his name, Mr. Chapman?" Liberty asked, notebook in hand; Arnold Chapman grimaced. "He calls himself Reginald Crandall--the Third, if you please! Probably a fake name...he's about six-one with slick black hair and a pencil mustache! Always

@Unbreakable123 did you have a photo reference for your dolly parton? lovely angle .
@Tiffero i love the glasses. I only recently became aware of dolly parton, but it seems from all the posts about her, she may have been open minded and wore such glasses.
@heyroger I know some but not most of david bowie's music, did bowie and parton ever create any music?

Question, is nsfw content the most profitable on deviantart? For example with books, the romance is the biggest genre in terms of sales and money, more than fantasy or horror or other. if nsfw the most profitable sector in deviantart? and I don't think that is a problem. Online adult content has always been the most profitablenon physical sale.

What determinant of popularity is the most viral from the stats provided by deviantart to users? is it views? comments? watchers? i know all say something but which is the strongest determinant. Someone else , elsewhere online said most folks lurk online. so comments quantity may not reflect interest or who is paying attention. .. and watchers can be bots. so I gamble views is the most, what say your experience?

@WasteRat that is a great sci fi elephant. Is the image part of a story or a world. You don't say in the description, and it has a flag. maybe pirates?
@SucroseFrogArtwork3 an ancestor to the elephant from wasterat thanks for finding and sharing it
@aztlanwayne were you honest about august 18th I don't recall anything in the news about that. Sexy design, and I like the color. But thanks for the background, completes the work
@Novadrome I admit i noticed this was abstract impresisonism quite quickly I like how for me, it seems like eye of a person peering from th eother side of a broken wall, but then also a large winged creature flying toward where the sun appears in the sky and then the simple unknown. Nice
@RohelineBear priestess of circuits. has a great look. I am just finished looking at metropolis again so I feel the machine human's vibes.
@MarianaKorett love the activity and sense of motion amongst the collective. Nice, and vibrant colors. what coloured pencil brand do you use?

Nice feature @vagrantscout

@XoAngelBeatsoX lovely prose in your description about star trek. Wise was a proven high quality director for his successes in various genres and I think he comprehended what star trek needed so well that every single star trek movie after has highlighted the enterprise as representing this special way of life.
My question is, as someone who does cosplay. What are your thoughts about the costume of the motion picture in comparison to wrath of khan and onward for the original crew? I notice you chose the wrath of khan outfits.
I think the motion picture uniforms are less busy and straight forward. I can see people in the future, far future, having a much starker fashion sense than today. I think the outfits of next generation and later seem to suggest Wise was correct in his foretelling fashion. cause the next generation/deepspace nine/voyager/enterprise/discovery uniforms seem closer to the motion picture than wrath of khan.
What say you?

@pinkythepink an hour and a half, nice work on the badge. LEonard Nimoy I love as a fellow artist. The truth, and looking at shatner's recent documentary proves this, is that paramount never really cared or cares for star trek. Paramount wants to go another way, it is a cash cow, but at its heart star trek is not like all the other major media film brands. They can't milk it into a constant stream of terror like an alien or predator. It isn't vast as a star wars, Star trek has a controlled science fiction. It doesn't have the modern escapism or fantasy that marvel or DC can provide. Star Trek isn't now, by star trek's own accounts now is messy now isn't good, now isn't elegant, now isn't the best, now isn't the hope, the hope is later, not now by star trek's account and I think that makes some people retort from star trek. As mccoy said, today is the dark ages. People today call yesterday the dark ages but star trek calls today the dark ages, spider man is the dark ages. the avengers is the dakr ages. superman is the dark ages. Leonard nimoy comprehended paramount didn't care for star trek even with its value and he was the one who was prepared for wrath of kahn, when whispers say paramount was looking to shut star trek down after the motion picture. And then Nimoy did the whales and I paraphrase him
"we had death in every single film, deckerd and haialiyah, spock, and kirk's son, we wanted a story with no deaths and the heart of star trek" and for me, I love the whales and I argue it is the best of the star trek films. Khan is still the best collective performance and a great part 2 film. But in terms o fmood, upbeat positivity, nothing beats the whales.
Did anyone buy the bead dresses? they look real cool
@DrMistyTang it's funny you mention Uhura isn't snark cause in parallel uhura isn't disrespected. When you look at the film Alien, ripley's love interest dallas, doesn't trust her position and gets everyone but her killed. She has to fight everyone , including the other female crew member to get her point across of to be believed. in terminator 2, sarah connor is in an insane asylum, while being 100% correct. yes if she was a man she would probably be in the same situation because of the various external interest. In star wars, leah has to constantly battle with han or luke who treat her as some fine lady or gentle female. She never treats them with the same gentleness even though she loves them both. The brilliance of Uhura is she is one of the few female characters who for the most part is never questioned by males because she is a woman. She isn't treated less or greater than. She isn't treated like a flower that can't survive, nor is she treated like an idiot r someone who doesn't warrant her post. How many other female characters in well known media can say they haven't been questioned based on them being a female by a male?
Yes, I love the Vulcan Harp / Ka’athyra too . The funnest thing to me, is it is an open instrument. It doesn't have an official way .

Happy 60th Birthday Star Trek!
[DEVIATION] Live long and prosper because it's Star Trek Day! 60 years ago today, on September 8th 1966, the first episode of Star Trek aired in the United States of America. "The Man Trap" saw the crew of the USS Enterprise encountering a mysterious space vampire on an alien planet. Funny thing about this episode? It wasn't even the actual pilot episode of Star Trek! After a failed first pilot episode was rejected as "too brainy" for audiences, a rare second pilot episode secured the show's future; but even that pilot wasn't aired until the third episode of season 1. "The Man Trap" won out as it featured distinct sci-fi elements, a mysterious alien monster, and showcase the main trio of Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. Who knew!   In honor of this stellar anniversary, I have a galaxy full of fun Star Trek facts, fictions, and fantasies for you to enjoy below. Set phasers for fun!
