I'm late to this topic, but I'm going to add my two cents in anyway. Most people wish for a partner who would be there for them and treat them right. A lot of Black women would prefer a partner who can identify with Black culture, but as one of you mentioned, available Black men have "their pick of the litter." Consequently, many women vying for the few available men. So what's a sistah to do? No one wants to be lonely. So she broadens her horizon. What you are seeing in a proliferation of white males/black females relationships is Black women getting bolder at making the choice to seek a partner, outside of race, wherever one is attainable.
