Hello all, I am working on a paper about the impact of the book of Exodus on African-American Literature. One of the major themes in Exodus I feel African-Americans identify with is the idea of a promised land or paradise. I was wondering if anyone knew of any examples of this theme of the "promised land" in African-American literature (from any era). Thanks, the help is greatly appreciated.
