My well-known contemporary, Gloria Steinam, has checked out at the ripe old age of 92.

This famous activist and I go waaay back. I've always liked her even if her Feminist credo was more geared to white women than sistas - who yearned for capable black men to take the lead and at least share the burdens thrust upon their women. No such luck.

Gloria was cool, very adept at weaponizing words. One of her most famous zingers was her observation that "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle". Amen.

She and Maya Angelou were partners in crime, when it came to cutting men down to size.

Thanks to Steinam advancing the cause of women, many barriers and glass ceilings were circumvented. It's hard to believe that back in the 1960s when banks came up with the idea of credit cards, single woman weren't eligible to get one nor could a married one, unless her husband co-signed for her. Neither did women get equal pay for doing the same job as a man. The feminist movement helped rectify all those restrictions.

Gloria wasn't a big fan of marriage, believing it was a contract wherein a woman signed away her independence.

She never stopped fighting for her cause, and in spite of what bruthas say or perhaps because of what they say about white feminists, l dug Gloria and couldn't care less about chauvinistic black men.)

Hail and farewell, Girlfriend. Rest in Power.

Much respect to Ms. Gloria Steinem for standing on bizness in fighting for women's rights & living on her own terms. RIP to an icon.😎

The Bulls have acquired a young basketball phenom named, of all things, Caleb Wilson and fans are looking forward to watching him develop. But - da BEARs have started the season off with a dilemma! I'm so nervous for Caleb Williams! All the pre-season hype may be for naught. Hope his injury won't cause him to lose his mojo! 😟

Plenty going on to distract me from the Trumped states of America. I hate the sight and sound of that tangerine turd who thinks America is his kingdom! If only the Dems can sweep the mid-terms and then come up with a winning candidate for president! A strong, dynamic, capable, white, moderate male who the luke warm approval of black folks will help get elected. 😉

Oh well, Al is still an intriguing passtime for me.

I'm also hoping QB Caleb Williams will bounce back from his hamstring injury & return to his playing form with no setbacks.

The Commanders have a similar situation with QB Jayden Daniels. He dislocated his left elbow again. Same injury last season. Hoping he bounces back healthy & playing well.

The current clown-in-chief is definitely running a circus & making the USA the laughingstock of the world.

POTUS OJ's UN speech was embarrassing. His ban on CNN, Politico & MSNOW was petty. The war with Iran is a debacle. That's just to name a few blunders.

While the Democrats do not have any real plans &/or solutions for redeeming the USA, the midterm elections could be a referendum on Americans being fed up with the current administration.

MAGA seems to be losing steam & patience with the show they thought was a great idea a couple years ago.

Hopefully, the midterm election results will render POTUS OJ a lame-duck & tie his hands over the last 2 years of his reign of stupidity & incompetence.

I've noticed the people who normally support POTUS OJ the imbecile are eerily quiet nowadays. Guess it's hard to justify &/or defend the indefensible.

What I was really implying in regard to the black vote was that the enthusiastic endorsement of black voters can be neutralized by a negative reaction from middle of the road white voters who are turned off by the double edged sword of "wokeness". To defeat the white conservatives aka MAGAS, Dems have to champion the moderation which represents the silent majority of Americans, not disgruntled special interest groups.

Winning back the House and Senate should be the first order of business. Then policies can be addressed. imo.

Right now, Democrats have to deal with competing factions under big tent.

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) movement is getting a lot of attention.

Somehow, Democratic leadership has to corral the performers under the big top.

Hopefully, whoever emerges as the Democratic nominee for POTUS will be able to pull it all together.

It would stand to reason that winning back the House & Senate could lead to policies in a different direction.

However, POTUS OJ seems to running with scissors regardless of Congressional approval.

Of course, the GOP is going to rubber stamp whatever he wants to do.

But, the Democrats aren't throwing up major opposition either. They haven't really brought anything to the floor.

A democratic Senate could stall appointments & impede laws. Remains to be seen.

Best to hope for at this point is POTUS OJ runs out of gas in less than 2 years.😎
