Johnny Temple of Akashic Books interviews Troy D. Johnson

Akashic Books "Reverse-Gentrification of the Literary World"

That is Akashic Books slogan and they are serious.  Akashic has published a number of Black authors including authors I consider part of the AALBC.com's family including Elizabeth Nunez, Bernice McFadden, Persia Walker and even the irrascible, incorrible Kola Boof.

The have published books Thumper LOVED including Jesus Boy and many others.

Recently, the publisher of Akashic, Johnny Temple interviewed me.  This is a very unusual thing for a publisher to do.  I think it is a great idea (not just because they interviewed me).  But they are returning the support I've provided them over the years -- and I truly appreciated it.  They are helping me help them.

Big publishers could take a note from Akashic Books playbook.  The industry would be much stronger if they did.

They did it up right, creating the graphic below and even sharing on social media :)
