HER

Even now, years later, I still wonder what gave me the right to think that I deserved her. How foolish was it of me to somehow  start, all of a sudden, to believing in miracles. Yet, I did…….because of her.  Because of her, I so willingly surrendered to the mistaken notion that ‘my day had finally come’, that I, of all persons, now stood wonderfully perched on the beginning of my ‘happily ever after. Damn, it all felt so good, so right, and so real.

And what was she thinking? Did she know that if she had truly permitted me to  possess her, how strange a couple we would have made: an angel and a mortal!
