SNAPSHOT FOR TODAY

February 6

Your mind is a garden where you plant the seeds from which your fears grow.  You sow them in the top soil of your ignorance, water them with your tears, cultivate them in your heart, and then wait on them to grow big enough to eat you.    Ali-

Think. Go back. Find your lie or your myth. Each of us has a specific lie or myth that is the instrument of our own personal defeat. This is the thread from which everything else is built. Find it. Destroy it. Heal.  What prominent deception has set you up for failure: “niggas ain’t shit”, “red women are evil”, “you ain’t got enough sense to pour piss out of a boot”, “you ain’t good for nuthin’, “you just like your daddy”, etc.  In sum, when nothing more is heard from your lie then it can no longer dominate your future, and the rest of the system that has been put in place to check your progress will fall away. You have removed the central support beam. Your outlook will change.

Getting your life well is no house party.  It is a search and destroy mission aimed at eliminating any weakness that sickens you. You cannot take it for granted that you are going to get better simply because you know what’s wrong.   You are at war. Your voice has been raised in protest. Weakness must be crushed.  Don’t civilize your weakness by nursing and babysitting it like many smokers hoping to quit do, reducing their dependence gradually. Welcome the pain----and quit.  There is no need to adopt  any second-hand ideas about pain.  Yes, it hurts like hell……Persevere!
