Liminality and Blackness

Featured Replies

I am the editor of a new anthology of liminality entitled, The Liminal Loop: Astonishing Stories of Discovery and Hope (The Lutterworth Press, 2022). 200 pages, 65,000 words, trade paperback. Eighteen international contributors.

Of special interest to AALBC and this Forum is one particular chapter of the anthology, a contribution that is absolutely unique. Phil Jones, Jr. has written a poem/reflection on how the black experience is liminal experience, defined by the margins, intersections, and culture of the in-between. His chapter is entitled, "Unknownland, Blackness and Liminality."

His words are powerful, deeply informed, and integrate a whole new set of ideas with concepts of blackness.
